Link Popularity

What is Link Popularity?

Link Popularity is the number of backward hyperlinks to your website.
At the same time, not all backward links to your site are counted by search engines. Even not all counted links have the same value for you. Anyway, all links influence on your relevance in major search engines. The best example is Google. It is used many times as term for Google's PageRank, Google's own method of search engine link popularity. The search engines have decided that if many sites are linking to your site, that site must be a better than the others and deserves a boost in their rankings. If you think about it, this makes a lot of sense. People are linking to good websites, not to bad ones.

* Why is Link Popularity so important for my site?

Nowadays inbounds links are one of most important factors for getting a high keyword ranking since majority of search engines are ranking their search result on the link popularity from your site. Not the quantity, but the quality of those links is important. Remember not all backward links are so important for you. To increase PageRank, it is very important that site directing to you has good PageRank as well as page directing to you has appropriate content and right text.

Hi

What’s more important? Creating sites for users or the engines? The answer is both.

Primarily a site should be designed for the user, with search engines in mind. Google tends to talk out both sides of their mouth when they say, “Don’t do anything special for the engines”. Yet, they create a webmaster tool center where you can submit a sitemap, and get information about how the engines see your site, errors and what key phrases your site ranks for. That gives new site owners a little bit of confusion.

I like sites that are easy to navigate, pleasing to the eye and that help sell whatever it is you need to. Pages should be set up as landing pages. This way you can give the visitor everything they need to make a purchase or fill out a form. At the same time you can optimize these pages for the engines and use the pages for your PPC campaigns. I believe in doing sites this way. It brings the visitor a much better experience.

The perfect site is not only user friendly, but optimized for the engines. You need to target where people go to in order to provide them with the information or product they need. There is nothing worse than having people landing on a page that is optimized for a phrase but offers no information about it.. It brings the user a bad experience and you a missed sale or lead. Once you have a page optimized, you can streamline the transition from viewing what you have to offer to facilitating a purchase. You can also provide related content and links. This, in turn, will help with you PPC because Google is now checking to see how relevant your landing pages are to the keywords you buy.

In the grand scheme of things, you do need to optimize your site. However, if you do not have usability for the user, your traffic won’t convert. Non-converting traffic is worse than having no traffic at all. It’s a webmasters nightmare.

SEO World

Every webmaster wants his site to increase in the google ranking. To Optimize a website that has tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands of dynamically generated pages, requires thinking different ways Old SEO schools, where you assign each page a keyword theme based on keyword research and a title tag, H1 tag and intro copy, then find out the best internal links to send to the page, just doesn't scale with big sites. Particularly when you are talking about the magnitude that our Net concepts clients are operating at typically over 100,000 indexed pages.

It is essential that you focus your SEO efforts in such a way that the effects will clear through your site. For example, come up with "recipes" for optimized title for product pages, for category pages, etc. yet allowing for those recipes to be over hidden with a hand crafted title tag when required. Getting the right title tag will make a big difference. For example, the website Slide Share has over 40,000 tag pages indexed in Google but the titles are suboptimal. They all follow the recipe of "Slide Share » Slide shows tagged with [keyword]." A better choice would have been "[keyword] tagged PowerPoint slides, presentations and slide shows." Such a change is usually easy to implement and is likely to pay big dividends in rankings and traffic improvements.

Meta tags, links, meta data, content, relevancy, competition, and page title all affect page ranking. The HTML title tag, an element that tells searchers what your page is about, is often overlooked.

Top ten positive ranking factors:
1)What keyword we are using in title tag?
2)Anchor text of inbound links.
3)How old the site is?
4)Link popularity with in the site's internal link structure.
5)Topical relevance of inbound links to site.
6)Keyword use in body text.
7)Global link popularity of linking site.
Index inclusion and coverage.
9)Link Building (internal and external).
10)Onpage optimization.
